Wanna Take A Virtual Tour Of The Int'l Space Station?

The peeps over as NASA have definitely come up with a really neat multimedia experience once again. You can take a virtual tour of the International Space Station while it is still under construction. This works by taking 360 degree photos from cameras inside the station & allows you to look around in a complete circle. They even give you some movement up and down as well. And it wouldn't be a complete tour without those little signs on the wall giving you information on points of interest. They included that as well, by turning your cursor into a red dot while over anything with a description, or another room that you can walk into. They definitely provide you with a good feel as to what life will be like on the ISS.

This site is clearly a must see for any space enthusiast. Although they say that the virtual tour is resource intensive, I found that my pII 300mhz kept up with it just fine. The pictures did take a little time to load across my 56k connection, but I found the load times to be acceptable compared to the content it provides. They give you access to the American, Japanese, and European nodes. This gives you a good taste of the diversity that the craft possesses. Also, for those of you who are still wondering of how you take a "space poop", they do describe the bathroom facilities in detail. Overall, this site gives you the best picture of what the ISS is all about. It is hardly information overload, but still enough for you to understand how this is all going to work. NASA definitely hit one out of orbit with this tour.
